– for trust, tranquility, nostalgia and devotion.
Blue is another extremely popular colour – both generally and in my jewellery designs. It is said to be the colour of trust, peace and loyalty. It promotes tranquility and is excellent for mental relaxation. Who does not appreciate the beauty of a calm blue sea or gazing up into a clear blue sky.? A beautiful colour that evokes calmness and evaporates everyday stress. Blue jewellery is conservative and nostalgic and loved by those who value devotion.
Sapphire is one of the four precious stones and is usually blue in colour. It is probably the rarest and consequently most expensive blue gem. If you are looking for a more affordable gemstone then lapis lazulli, and its close cousin sodalite, are both excellent choices. Swarovski include a ‘lapis’ in their pearl range along with a deeper ‘midnight blue’. In their larger crystals that I use for the heart and butterfly necklaces their ‘Bermuda Blue’ remains extremely popular.
